Trojans Sit in a Tie for 14th After Day One of Bearcat Fall Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Opening their fall slate with a trip to Augusta, Ga., the nationally ninth-ranked Anderson University men's golf team currently sits in tie for 14th at the Bearcat Fall Invitational at the Forest Hills Golf Club.

North Georgia currently leads the tournament with a score of 22-under while the Trojans are tied with King at 14-over for the opening day of action.

Freshman Can Gürdenli (Istanbul, Turkey) started the day off with an even par round before dropping a one-under 71 in the afternoon. Junior Simon Wright (Lancaster, S.C.) was consistent on the day as he posted matching rounds of 74 to finish four-over on the day. Freshman Sam McMillan (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) started his day with a round of 72 and followed that up with a 78 in the second round.

Freshman Luke Sullivan (Columbia, S.C.) finished just one stroke behind McMillan on the day as he carded a 72 in the opening round and a 79 in the afternoon. Senior Daniel Coker (Hartsville, S.C.) rounded out the scoring for the Trojans with rounds of 72 and 81.

The Trojans will look to move up the leaderboard in the third round tomorrow.
