DAYTON, Ohio -- Former Anderson baseball standout Blair Carson continues to build his resume while on the mound for the NL Central Division-leading Reds' Single A affiliate.
Since joining the Dayton Dragons in late April, Carson has made six appearances, including one starting stint. The 6-foot-2 right-handed hurler, selected by the Reds out of Anderson University in the 42nd round just a little less than a year ago, is 0-1 after suffering his first loss just last Saturday, a 14-inning 4-3 road setback to the Great Lakes Loons.
Carson, an Anderson native, surrendered his first runs of the season, both unearned, while working 1 2/3 innings in relief in a game that lasted more than four hours. With the Midwest League's Dragons, Carson has tossed 13 2/3 innings, while giving up 14 hits, walking two and recording five strikeouts and is holding opponents to a .253 batting average.
