MARS HILL, N.C. - The Anderson women's tennis team bounced back from Saturday's setback to notch a convincing 8-1 South Atlantic Conference win past Mars Hill Sunday afternoon at the Hart Tennis Courts.
Anderson improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference, while Mars Hill fell to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the league.
The Trojans swept the doubles' points to gain an early 3-0 lead and claimed five-of-six singles' matches to earn their fourth win in the last five outings.
The AU tandem of Karen Ching and Avery Owens notched their third consecutive win at No. 1 doubles, while Owens has now won five consecutive decisions on the singles' side. Ching and Lauren Trumbull have posted three straight singles' wins.
Anderson will get back on the courts on Tuesday, as the Trojans play host to Catawba. First-serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Max Grubbs Memorial Courts.
