GAFFNEY, S.C. - Winning two doubles' points and five points on the singles side propelled the Anderson women's tennis team to a 7-2 win past Limestone Wednesday afternoon at the Emmie Evans Rector Center.
The 49th-ranked Trojans improved to 4-1 on the season and have won three straight, while handing Limestone (3-1) its first setback of the season.
Anderson gained an early advantage by claiming a pair of wins on
the doubles' side, with
Karen Ching and Avery Owens teaming up to blank Paige Palinkas and
Jessica Reyes Varela, 8-0, at No. 1 doubles and the Trojan duo of
Lindsay Gregory and Alexandra Ebner defeating Segolene Ollivier and
Lauren Bolender, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles.
Ching, Owens, Ebner and Gregory, along with Hannah Ecleberry, earned wins on the singles' side.
Anderson returns to the courts on Sunday for a South Atlantic Conference matchup at Mars Hill. First-serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
