ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson University women's tennis team wrapped up its' regular-season slate with a 9-0 setback to seventh-ranked Columbus State in nonconference action Saturday afternoon at the Max Grubbs Memorial Tennis Courts.

Anderson slipped to 11-8 on the season, while the Lady Cougars improved to 22-1.

The Trojan duo of Camie Beaulieu-Brunet and Shelby Anderson nearly pulled off a win at No. 1 doubles before eventually dropping a narrow 8-6 decision to Columbus State's Paola Cigui and Milica Tomic, while CSU's Renata Paiva and Andrea Redrado defeated Trojan freshmen Clair Larkin and Lindsay Gregory 8-3 at the No. 2 slot. At third doubles Olivera Jokic and Sandra Jung won 8-3 over AU's Avery Owens and Bianca Chequin.

On the singles' side, 10th ranked Cigui improved to 22-0 at No. 1 singles, downing Beaulieu-Brunet 6-1, 6-0. At second singles, Tomic defeated Larkin 6-1, 6-1, while Jokic topped Owens 6-1, 6-2 at the No 3 spot. At fourth singles, Redrado defeated Anderson 6-3, 6-4. Jung played at fifth singles and came away with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Lauren Trumbull and Paiva improved to 4-0 on the season in singles play by defeating Gregory 6-3, 6-3.

Anderson opens the 2012 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament as the No. 2 seed on Friday in Rock Hill, S.C. First-serve is scheduled for 9 a.m.
