WINGATE, N.C. - The Anderson women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Wingate in South Atlantic Conference action Tuesday afternoon at the Wingate Tennis Complex.
Anderson (10-7, 8-1 SAC) had its three-match win streak halted, but still holds a two-match lead in the win column over Wingate (13-4, 6-1 SAC) in the race for the regular-season title.
AU senior Shelby Anderson earned the Trojans' lone win of the afternoon by defeating Morgan Winston in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (10-6) at No. four singles.
Anderson travels to Limestone on Thursday for a non-conference matchup versus the Saints.
