BREVARD, N.C. - The Anderson women's tennis team wrapped up its South Atlantic Conference schedule by dropping a 6-3 decision at Brevard Tuesday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
In a battle for second place in the league standings, Brevard improved to 14-6 overall and 7-1 in the conference by winning its second straight and 11th in its' last 12 matches. Anderson suffered its third consecutive setback while slipping to 9-7 and 6-3.
The Anderson duo of Shelby Anderson and senior Julie Halbert defeated Elise Labus and Jennifer Nyman, 8-2, at the No. 3 doubles' slot, while freshman Lauren Trumbull earned a 6-1, 6-3 singles' win past Michelle Prata at No. 4.
Anderson collected her second win of the afternoon with a straight-set 6-1, 6-2 win past Nyman at No. 5 singles.
Anderson closes out the regular season with a visit to former conference opponent Belmont Abbey on Saturday.
