Women’s Golf in 14th Place after First Round of Agnes McAmis Memorial

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Paced by senior Sarah Timms' 9-over-par 81, the Anderson University women's golf team is in 14th place after the first round of Tusculum's 18th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Golf Invitational on Monday at the Link Hills Country Club 5,805-yard, par 72 layout in Greeneville, Tenn.

King (Tenn.) (311) leads the two-day event by four strokes over Lander (315), while Carson-Newman (318) is three shots further back and Converse is in fourth after posting a combined 322.

The Trojans trail 13th-place Lenoir-Rhyne by six shots and lead Converse (B) by 10 strokes heading into Tuesday's final round.

Defending champion Caitlin Starrs is bidding to become only the second repeat medalist in the history of the tournament after firing an opening-round even-par 72. The Wingate junior leads King's Elizabeth Swallow by two shots, while three others are two shots further back.

Timms is tied for 30th, while junior Garyt Hamilton shares 51st after carding an 85 on Monday. Senior Natalie Feder is in a tie for 59th following a 15-over-par 87 and junior Arista Setro is in a tie for 75th after posting a 91.
