Second Round of Converse Spring Invitational Canceled

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - With snow on the ground throughout the region, the second and final round of the Converse Spring Invitational, slated for the Carolina Country Club, has been canceled.

With the cancellation, the Trojans finish tied with Lenoir-Rhyne in 14th place after each team posted 368s in Monday's opening round.

King (Tenn.) posted a 314 on Monday to claim the team title by nine shots over Mount Olive (323). The host Valkyries (326) finished third, one shot ahead of Queens, which notched a first-round 327. Catawba (330) and Pfeiffer (330) tied for fifth, with Erskine tied for seventh along with Tusculum after both posted 331s for the first round.

Belmont Abbey (345) was 14 strokes further back, while Emmanuel (349), Mars Hill (358), Converse B (359), Coker (362), Anderson (368), Lenoir-Rhyne (368) and Spartanburg Methodist (369) rounded out the 16-team field.

King's Nicola Robertson (75) claimed the individual medalist title by one shot over Queens' Grace Glaze and King's Elizabeth Swallow, who each carded 76s on the day.

AU's Garyt Hamilton finished in a tie for 29th with an 84, while junior Braiden Furtick posted an opening-round 92 and shared 58th. Senior Natalie Feder (94) tied for 66th, with senior Sarah Timms carding a 98 to hold the 70th spot. Junior Arista Setro carded a 99 and shared the 71st spot.

Anderson will get back on the links at the Hilton Head Lakes Invitational on March 9-10.
