Women’s Golf Set to Compete at Converse Spring Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. - On the heels of the arctic weather that just passed through the Upstate, the Anderson University women's golf team is set to compete at the Converse Spring Invitational, which is slated to be held Monday and Tuesday at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C.

This week marks the second appearance in two seasons for the Trojans in Spartanburg, with AU claiming fourth last year. Natalie Feder led the Trojans with a two-round 172 a season ago, as AU finished just behind Erskine, the host Valkyries and Queens University. Garyt Hamilton notched a 184 and Braiden Furtick carded a 186.

Anderson will be looking to improve on its 15th-place finish two weeks ago at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate, which saw the Trojans struggle to a team total 692 at the two-day event. Feder (83-83=166) finished 55th at Kiawah Island, while Furtick (84-83=167) was one shot further back and shared the 56th spot. Hamilton (88-90=178) finished in 74th two weeks ago, with senior Sarah Timms (88-93=181) placing 75th.
