Women’s Golf Sits in 13th Place Following First Round of Patsy Rendleman Memorial

SALISBURY, N.C. - Paced by junior Garyt Hamilton's season-best 4-over-par first-round 76, the Anderson women's golf team is in 13th place following opening round action on Monday at the Patsy Rendleman Memorial, hosted by Catawba at the 6,005 yard, par-72 Country Club of Salisbury.

Converse (305) leads the 15-team field by three strokes over Catawba and Queens, which both recorded 308s on the day, while Newberry (310) and West Georgia (310) share the fourth spot. Lincoln Memorial (314) is sixth, followed by Wingate (317), Tusculum (320), Erskine (323) and Pfeiffer (323).

Coker (324), North Greenville (334), Anderson (339), Lenoir-Rhyne (344) and Belmont Abbey (349) rounded out the field.

Catawba's Anthea Gnielinski and Newberry's Marianna Monaco are tied atop the individual leaderboard with even-par 72s on the day. Converse's Maddisen Cox (73) is one shot further back in third, with four golfers within two strokes of the lead and another six within just three shots of the top spot.

Hamilton is in a four-way tie for 14th, only four strokes behind Gnielinski and Monaco, while senior Sarah Timms (86) is tied for 57th. Senior Natalie Feder shares the 59th spot heading into Tuesday's final round, with junior Arista Setro carding a first-round 90 to sit in a four-way tie for 69th.

The 36-hole, two-day event is scheduled to wrap up Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
