Anderson Teams Sweep Limestone Invitational

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- The Anderson University cross country teams won both the women's and men's titles in the Limestone Invitational Saturday. Jennifer Hitt won the individual title and three other Anderson runners finished in the top 10 to lead the Lady Trojans to a first-place finish. Hitt, a senior from Fountain Inn, S.C., won the 5K event with a time of 19:24. She was the only runner in the race to finish under 20 minutes. Anderson's Diana Willard finished second with a time of 20:09. Also in the top 10 for Anderson were Ashley McCellion (6th, 20:22) and Chelsea Rogers (10th, 20:56). The Lady Trojans finished with 56 points. Presbyterian was second with 73 points, and host Limestone was third with 89 points. The Anderson men finished 4-5-6-7-9 to dominate the field in the men's 8K event. Anderson was first with 31 points. Presbyterian was second with 94 points, and UNC Pembroke was third with 95 points. Jason Bryan was Anderson's top finisher (4th, 27:05). He was followed by Nathan Parsons (5th, 27:09), Ethan Schaffner (6th, 27:10), Alex Jordan (7th, 27:28), and Jeremy Hunsaker (9th, 27:51).
