NEW ORLEANS - The Division II men's and women's week one cross country regional rankings were released Tuesday afternoon by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. There were only a few changes to the top teams with the most notable change coming in the women's Southeast Region. The Anderson men are ranked second and the Anderson women are ranked third in the Southeast Region. Lees-McRae becomes the top ranked team in the Southeast after they dominated the field at the South Carolina Upstate Eye Opener meet. In the women's East region, Kutztown takes over at number one after they posted several top times at their home opener, the Maroon and Gold Classic. Mars Hill comes in at number one this week in the men's Southeast Region after an impressive performance at the Lou Onesty Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia. The top teams in the eight men's regions are as follows (new teams in bold): Abilene Christian (South Central), Adams State (North Central), Harding (South), Slippery Rock (East), Mars Hill (Southeast), Stonehill (Northeast), Grand Valley St. (Great Lakes) and Chico State (West). The top teams in the eight women's regions are as follows: Abilene Christian (South Central), Adams State (North Central), Harding (South), Kutztown (East), Lees-McRae (Southeast), Stonehill (Northeast), Grand Valley St. (Great Lakes) and Seattle Pacific (West).
