Men First, Women Fifth At Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Anderson University men's cross country team placed five runners in the top 25 to edge Lenior-Rhyne and win the Eye Opener Meet at the Milliken Cross Country course Saturday morning. Anderson finished first with 84 points in the 17-team field, three points ahead of Lenior-Rhyne. Spartanburg Methodist was third, St. Andrews Presbyterian was fourth, and Lees-McRae was fifth. Alex Jordan (13th), Nathan Parsons (14th), Ethan Schaffner (16th), and Jason Bryan (17th) provided a tight pack for the Trojans in the 8K event. Jordan's team-leading time was 27:20. In the women's race, Anderson placed three runners in the top 32 to finish fifth in the 22-team field. With five runners in the top eight, Milligan finished first in the women's 5K race with 22 points. Lees-McRae was second, Wingate was third, and Lenior-Rhyne was fourth. Anderson was led by Diana Willard, who finished 14th with a time of 20:10. Anderson University Cross Country Results
