WINGATE, N.C. -- Jennifer Hitt of Anderson College qualified for the NCAA Division II National Cross Country Championship meet Saturday morning at the Southeastern Regional at the Wingate Cross Country Facility. Hitt, a freshman from Fountain Inn, S.C., finished fourth in the 6K meet with a time of 23:01, 20 seconds behind meet winner Margaux Cowan-Banker of Carson-Newman. Hitt, the CVAC Runner and Freshman of the Year, was the league's top finisher in the race. She will participate in the NCAA meet at Evansville, Ind., on Saturday, Nov. 20. The top two teams in the women's meet -- Mars Hill and host Wingate -- both earned trips to the NCAA meet. The Anderson women finished sixth in the 15-team field. In the men's 10K meet, Mars Hill won the title and Lenior-Rhyne finished second. The Anderson men finished 10th in the 18-team field. Larry Marshall of St. Augustine's won the men's individual title with a time of 32:18. Darius Shade of Livingstone was second at 32:20. Anderson's top finisher was freshman Ethan Schaffner, who finished 25th with a time of 34:39. Season Results
