ANDERSON, S.C. -- Leroy Thomas, who lead the Anderson College women's team to the 2002 CVAC title and started the track and field program at AC, has resigned to pursue other opportunities, athletic director Bobby Beville announced Wednesday afternoon. "Leroy did a good job for our cross country and track programs," Beville said. "We are sorry to see him go. He will be difficult to replace." Thomas, a native of Australia, was an eight-time All-American at Cumberland (Ky.) College before coming to AC to coach both women's and men's cross country in the spring of 2000. He then established both the men's and women's track programs at AC. During Thomas' career at AC, the AC women's cross country team never finished lower than third in the CVAC championship meet and won one title (2002).
