DUE WEST, S.C. - Ethan Schaffner and Matt Atkinson finished 1-2 in the men's race and Jennifer Hitt finished third overall to lead Anderson College to a pair of second-place finishes at the Erskine Invitational Thursday afternoon. Wingate won both the men's and women's meets. Schaffner, a freshman from Baltimore, Ohio, recorded his second individual victory of the season and his fourth top-11 finish with a time of 27:18 in the 8K course, 35 seconds in front of Atkinson. The second-place finish was the best for Atkinson this season. The second-place team finish was the best of the season for the Anderson men. Hitt, a freshman from Fountain Inn, S.C., ran a 19:42 in the women's 5K event to record her fourth top-10 finish of season. The next action for both Anderson teams is the CVAC Championships, Friday, Oct. 29 at the Pine Lake Golf Course in Anderson. Season Results
