ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson men's tennis (6-6, 2-5 SAC) is set to take on two in-state opponents during the week. The Trojans will take on Limestone in a conference battle on Wednesday, before traveling to non-conference foe Columbia College on Thursday.

Who: Anderson Trojans (6-6, 2-5 SAC) vs. Limestone Saints (5-7, 2-4 SAC)

Where: Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center, Gaffney, S.C.

SCOUTING LIMESTONE

  • Limestone enters Wednesday's dual match off of a tight 4-3 road defeat at the hands of No. 37 Tusculum, 4-3.

  • The Saints' Louca Bertone has found success at No. 1 singles, posting a 3-1 record at the position.

  • In doubles, Bertone and partner Rodolfo Villavicenci are 4-1 at the No. 3 spot, which leads the team.

 

SCOUTING COLUMBIA

  • The Koalas look to bounce back from a home loss to conference foe Milligan.

  • In a recent March 8th win over Maryville, Columbia rebounded from dropping the doubles point and took five of six singles matches to complete a 5-2 win.

  • Head coach Mark Karnes is in his third season at the helm of the men's and women's tennis programs at Columbia. The Limestone University graduate helped guide the men's team to a strong 4-1 start this season.

 

LAST TIME HERE

Versus Limestone:

The Trojans defeated Limestone last season behind a doubles victory and a split in singles. Patrick Cronin won his court at the No. 3 doubles position, as the Trojans swept all three doubles matches. Then-senior Aaron Cabo notched his 50th career SAC victory in the win.

 

Versus Columbia:

The two teams have not met before.
