SUMTER, S.C. – Junior Mathis Collignon and freshman Vicent Mico represented Anderson in the 2023 ITA Division II Southeast Regional Championships on Friday.
Collignon secured a first-round victory over North Greenville's Lucas Cardoso by a score of 6-3, 6-2. The Trojan moved on to face Flagler's Baptiste Mercier, the 16th seed, that afternoon. Despite a valiant effort from Collignon, Mercier emerged with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory.
Mico was defeated 6-0, 6-4 by Ilian Borlee of Flagler in round one.
LOOKING AHEAD TO SATURDAY

Collignon will face Alexander Mirkov of Francis Marion at 11:00 a.m.

Mico will continue play against Mason Harmon of Young Harris at 5:00 p.m.
The tournament will continue Saturday, Sunday, and Monday on the outdoor courts at the Palmetto Tennis Center. The weekend's action includes players from AU, other South Atlantic Conference (SAC) foes, as well as out of conference opponents Columbus State, North Georgia, Lander, Augusta, Flagler, and others.

The Trojans host a scrimmage with conference foe Limestone on Saturday, September 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Trojan Tennis Complex.
Afterward, the Black and Gold continue their fall schedule and hit the road to take on Emmanuel on Friday, October 6. Match time between the Trojans and Lions is set for 1:00 p.m.
