Trojans Seek Bounce-Back Win Against Lincoln Memorial

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson Trojans men's tennis team looks to rebound from a loss last weekend as they host conference foe Lincoln Memorial on Sunday at 1 p.m.. The contest will be the Railsplitters' first SAC matchup of the season, while AU also seeks their first conference victory.

SCOUTING LINCOLN MEMORIAL

  • LMU comes into Anderson off of a pair of losses to strong opponents North Georgia and No. 14-ranked Lee University.

  • In the loss to Lee on Wednesday, February 28th, the Railsplitters took the doubles point and held a 3-2 lead in the dual, but Lee responded with a pair of three-sets victories to win 4-3.

  • In singles, the Railsplitters are led by sophomore Alexandru Giurea, who has a 6-2 record at the No. 1 spot. On the doubles court, senior Nic Goslar and junior Harper Mills have identical 6-2 marks in their doubles matches.

  • Head coach Abraham Lascari enters his first year at Lincoln Memorial following head coaching experience at Union College and assistant coaching time at fellow SAC member Limestone.


LAST TIME HERE

AU defeated LMU 6-1 on the road a season ago, behind a doubles point victory and five singles wins (four in straight sets). The triumph secured a 3-0 SAC record for the 22nd-ranked Trojans.


MICO HEATING UP

Freshman Vicent Mico looks to continue a three-match singles winning streak Sunday afternoon. Last time out against Lenoir-Rhyne, Mico was the first Trojan to record a point with a routine 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles. The Alicante, Spain native has also paired with junior Patrick Cronin in doubles for three wins at the No. 2 position.
