Quillen Named 2022 SAC Women's XC Elite 23 Award Winner

SALISBURY, N.C. – Aubrey Quillen of the Anderson University women's cross country team was named the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Wealth Enhancement Group Elite 23 award winner at the conclusion of the SAC Championships on Saturday (Nov. 5).

This award honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average (based on a minimum of 48 credit hours) in each of the league's 23 team championship sports.

Quillen, a senior from Sumter, S.C. has a 4.0 GPA with a major in Christian Studies and Missions.

At the SAC Championships, the Trojans finished second with a team time of 1:55.42 and a score of 53 in the 6,000m. Quillen ran an individual time of 25:59.5.

"It is always exciting to have someone on the team receive this award," said coach Kevin Eagle. "It has become a tradition to have someone receive it each year, so I am happy that Aubrey was able to bring it home for the Trojans this year!"

Next up for the Trojans will be the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on Saturday (Nov. 19) hosted by Wingate University in Charlotte, N.C. More information can be found at www.autrojans.com.
