11 Trojans Named USTFCCCA All-Academic

ANDERSON, S.C. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their 2022 NCAA Division II Individual and Team Academic Awards on Thursday (Jan. 26). Anderson had 11 athletes recognized, six on the women's side and five for the men.

To qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.

Spain Vaughan (Undecided), Daniel Similton (Communication), Ty Nelson (Mathematics and Engineering), Elliot Dotson (Kinesiology), and Patrick Berlejung (MBA) qualified for the men's team.

Emily Golden (Kinesiology), Whitney Hanson (Marketing), Jodi Ann Martin (Organizational Leadership), Elise Matthews (Graphic Design), Faith Nelson (Nursing), and Emma Whitaker (Management) were honored on the women's team.

At NCAA Nationals, the women's team won the NCAA Elite 90 Team GPA Award with a GPA of 3.89. For the South Atlantic Conference, Aubrey Quillen won the Elite 23 Award with a 4.0 GPA in Christian Studies and Missions.
