Cross Country Prepares for Royals Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Anderson University men's and women's cross country teams are preparing for the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, N.C. on Friday (Oct. 7) hosted by Queens University.

The men won their opening meet of the season on Sept. 17 at the Converse Kick-Off Classic and finished in second at the Queen City Invite a week later where sophomore Spain Vaughan set a new Anderson school record in the 8k with a time of 24:37. The women also won the Converse Kick-Off Classic, and finished third at the Queen City Invite.

"For both teams, we are strictly looking at how we have progressed over the last two weeks of training and how we are responding to it," said coach Kevin Eagle. "Since the course and conditions will almost be identical to two weeks ago, Friday's race will give us excellent data points to work with moving forward."

The Royals Challenge is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m., with coverage available at autrojans.com.
