Heming's Late Goal Lifts Trojans Over Mars Hill; 1-0

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson women's soccer junior Spencer Heming scored a goal in the 82nd minute to down South Atlantic Conference opponent Mars Hill, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at Spero Financial Field.

The Trojans improve to (4-8-1, 2-6-1) while the Lions fall to (2-12-1, 0-9 SAC).

After a scoreless 81 minutes of action, junior Kendall Simpson served a perfect cross with Heming finishing it off with a header past the keeper. Heming's first goal of the season proved to be the game winner.

For the match, the Trojans outshot Mars Hill 15(5)-8(4) while edging out the Lions 3-2 in corner kicks.

Junior keeper Jeanette Campbell and Mars Hill keeper Camryn Miller were credited with four saves apiece.

The Black and Gold will host Shaw on Wednesday for Senior Day. Kick-off is slated for 5 pm.
