NEWBERRY, S.C. – Anderson women's soccer team dropped its South Atlantic Conference road match against Newberry in double overtime, 1-0, at the Smith Road Complex.
The Trojans drop to (3-7-1, 1-5-1) while the Wolves move to (3-8, 3-4 SAC).
"It was a hard fought and a tough loss," said head coach Sarah Jacobs.
Newberry was able to score the game winner in the 102nd minute of the match after a flurry of shots following a corner kick.
For the match, the Wolves outshot the Trojans 19(10) – 10(2) and had the corner kick advantage, 11-7.
Junior keeper Jeanette Campbell was credited with five saves, while Newberry keeper Delaney Hood had two stops on the evening.
The Black and Gold will host Wingate on Saturday. Kick-off is slated for 5 pm.
