Crumpton Announces First Signee

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Kelli Whitfield, a goalkeeper at Anderson's T.L. Hanna High School, has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer at Anderson University, AU head women's soccer coach Abby Crumpton announced Tuesday. Whitfield has been a member of the Hanna soccer and basketball teams for four years. Entering the 2006 season, she has played in 41 consecutive games and made 22 straight starts for the Yellow Jacket soccer team. For the past two seasons, Whitfield has been the starting goalkeeper for the ASA Under 18 team. Her team has posted two top-five finishes in the State Cup the past two seasons.
