Mendez Leads Bulldogs Past Lady Trojans, 2-0

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Shadeeka Mendez scored two goals and Ciji Sims made seven saves to lead South Carolina State to a 2-0 victory over Anderson College in a non-conference women's match Monday night at Smethers Field. Mendez scored her first goal at the 6:10 mark on a blast from 30 yards out. Her second goal came at 86:36 after she dribbled through a crowd and then found the back of the Anderson net. Anderson, 3-11-2 overall, had three good chances in the second half, but all three shots hit the post. South Carolina State, 3-13 overall, had 17 shots to 15 shots for Anderson.
