MORROW, Ga. - The third-seeded Anderson women's basketball team will face sixth-seeded Pfeiffer in the first game of the 2013 NCAA Division II Southeast Region Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.
The Trojans are making their eighth overall appearance in the
NCAA Tournament and their first since 2010, after capturing their
first South Atlantic Conference regular-season championship and SAC
Tournament title since joining the league for the 2010-11 campaign.
The third time was the charm, as Anderson was making its third
consecutive appearance in the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference
Tournament and became the third consecutive team to claim both the
regular-season title and tournament crown in the same season -
after Wingate in 2012 and Tusculum in 2011.
The Trojans have won eight of their last nine contests and are
looking for their first NCAA Tournament victory since defeating
Fairmont State, 62-50, in 2008. Anderson is 1-3 this season versus
teams in the Southeast Regional (Pfeiffer, USC Aiken and
Lenoir-Rhyne).
