FAIRBANKS, Alaska - After leading the Trojans to a pair of wins in the Mt. McKinley Bank North Star Invitational over the Thanksgiving Holiday, Anderson women's basketball senior guard Alissa Diaz was named to the All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the event.
The 5-foot-10 native of Coral Springs, Fla., averaged a team-high 14.7 points over the three-game span, while also averaging 3.7 rebounds and nearly four assists as the Trojans finished the tourney as runners-up to first-place Winona State.
Diaz finished with a team-high 17 points and dished out a game-high five assists in Thursday's setback to the Warriors, while adding eight points and four assists in just 19 minutes in the win past Alaska and tallied a season-high 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field against Upper Iowa.
Diaz also recorded the assist on Tilde Ahlin's game-winning shot
versus the Peacocks Saturday night, finding the 6-foot-3 center
with an inbounds pass from nearly half court with less than four
seconds on the clock.
