INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Anderson women's basketball team remains third in the Southeast Region in the NCAA's Division II Southeast Region rankings, as released Wednesday.
The top six teams remained the same as a week ago, with undefeated Clayton State, which is ranked first in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll, holding on to the top spot in the Southeast Region rankings. Conference Carolinas-member Limestone remained second, with Anderson, the top seed in this week's South Atlantic Conference Tournament, staying put in third.
Lenoir-Rhyne is fourth, followed by USC Aiken and Barton.
Augusta State and Pfeiffer flipped spots on the regional list, with the Jaguars climbing to seventh and the Falcons slipping one notch to eighth. SAC-members Newberry and Catawba also reversed their rankings, with the Wolves taking ninth and the Indians fell to 10th.
The NCAA D-II Tournament selections are scheduled to be unveiled
on Sunday at 10 p.m. at www.ncaa.com
Eight teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the NCAA
Division II tournament. In the Southeast Region, the tournament
champions from the South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt, and
Conference Carolinas will receive an automatic bid, with five more
at-large selections.
