ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson men's and women's basketball teams are set to host quarterfinal rounds of the 2013 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament, which begins Wednesday at the home arenas of the higher seeds.

The AU women's team will play host to Lincoln Memorial at 6 p.m., while the Trojan men will square off against Catawba at 8 p.m. at the Abney Athletic Center.

The AU ticket window will open at 5 p.m. and tickets may be purchased with cash only. No debit or credit cards will be accepted.

Tickets for the semifinal rounds on Saturday at Furman's Timmons Arena are $13 for adults and $6 for children and college students with college ID. Fans showing the Food Lion MVP card can save $2 off the price of an adult ticket for the semifinals.

Tickets for the finals on Sunday at Furman's Timmons Arena are $11 for adults and $6 for children and college students with college ID. Fans showing the Food Lion MVP card can save $1 off the price of an adult ticket for the finals.

After being picked eighth in the 2012-13 SAC women's basketball preseason poll, Anderson secured the outright conference title on Saturday and will be the top seed. The Trojans' SAC title is the program's first since joining the league for the 2010-11 season. AU finished eighth in the conference standings in both of its first two years.

Despite falling in its regular-season finale at Mars Hill on Saturday, Anderson finished one game ahead of No. 2 seed Lenoir-Rhyne in the SAC standings at 14-4. AU is 20-8 overall.

Lenoir-Rhyne entered Saturday with an opportunity to earn a share of the SAC title, but fell at Newberry 64-59. The Bears, 18-8 overall and 13-5 in the SAC, will play No. 7 seed Wingate in Wednesday's quarterfinals.
Catawba secured the SAC Championship's No. 3 seed on Saturday by defeating LMU, 60-56. The Indians, who reached the title game of last season's tournament, will face No. 6 seed Tusculum in the quarterfinals.

Newberry is the bracket's No. 4 seed and will take on fifth-seeded Carson-Newman in the quarterfinal round.

Wingate and LMU tied for seventh in the SAC standings at 7-11 in the league, but WU won a tiebreaker for the higher seed in the tournament by virtue of its 1-1 record against Catawba, while LMU was 0-2. Wingate and LMU split head-to-head this season, and both were 0-2 versus Anderson and Lenoir-Rhyne.

After being picked to finish fifth in the South Atlantic Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, the men's squad claimed the second seed with its win past Mars Hill on Saturday.

Anderson (18-8) and Wingate (18-8) finished tied in the league standings at 14-4, but the Trojans are the SAC Championship's No. 2 seed after winning a tiebreaker over the Bulldogs.

Lincoln Memorial clinched its second SAC men's basketball regular-season title in the past three years on Saturday, and will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament.

Lincoln Memorial beat Catawba Saturday night to secure the outright regular-season SAC title. The Railsplitters - who also won the league in 2010-11 - finished 22-4 overall and 15-3 in the conference, and enter the tournament on a six-game winning streak.

LMU, the top-ranked team in the most recent NCAA southeast regional rankings, will host eighth-seeded Tusculum on Wednesday night in the SAC Championship quarterfinal round. The Railsplitters' victory over Catawba eliminated any possibility of a split regular-season conference title with Anderson and Wingate.

AU and Wingate split head-to-head meetings during the regular season, moving the tiebreaker to the record against the bracket's highest seed. Anderson split its season series with LMU, while Wingate went 0-2.

Carson-Newman is the bracket's No. 4 seed, and will play host to fifth-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne in Wednesday's final quarterfinal matchup.

The championship games are on Sunday, March 10, at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The tournament winners will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
