Badraun Leads Trojans to 23-3 Victory and 5-0 Start to Season

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's lacrosse team won their fifth consecutive game to open the season on Saturday (Feb. 18) with a dominant 23-3 victory over Young Harris.

Radyn Badraun led the way for the Trojans by scoring a season-high six goals, while causing two turnovers and picking up two ground balls. Beau Henson and Matthew Rodgers each had hat tricks with three goals apiece. Logan Gaddis totaled two goals and four assists, while Nick Calabrese scored two goals himself. Rex Hardy, Ryan Bitterman, Kaleb West, Conner Michael, Will Hazelhurst, Brayden Bushnoe, and Max Calabrese each scored once.

Defensively, the Trojans forced 25 turnovers. Matthew Rodgers, Radyn Badraun, and Trey Davis each forced two. Ethan Pratt won 11 of his 15 faceoff attempts, while Breton Crewe was 8 for 15. Goalie Bryce Cheek allowed one goal in three quarters of play, making six saves. Hunter Klosterman relieved Cheek for the fourth quarter, picking up a save in the final 15 minutes of action.

"Another great team win today," said coach Albert Mitchell. "It is good to see guys step up and make the most of their opportunities. We are excited for Friday."
The Trojans are back in action at Spero Financial Field on Friday (Feb. 24) as they take on 12th nationally ranked (USILA) Rollins. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m., with video and live stats available at autrojans.com.
