Rodgers Leads Trojans With 11 Goals in 32-12 Win Over Chowan

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson University men's lacrosse team scored the most goals in a single game in program history on Saturday (Feb. 4) in a 32-12 win over Chowan University as 14 different Trojans scored.

Anderson came out and set the tone early by scoring 12 goals in the opening period, including one from Cam Weeks from the opening faceoff. Freshman Matthew Rodgers led the way for the Trojans, setting a program individual record with 11 goals on the afternoon. Garrett Hawkins totaled five goals off six shots on goal.

Max Calabrese scored three goals while picking up four ground balls. Ryan Bitterman and Radyn Badraun each scored twice meanwhile Logan Gaddis, Mikey McCormack, Rex Hardy, Cam Weeks, Matt Morgenroth, Will Hazelhurst, Jack Goldstein, Christian Chilton, and Ethan Bormann each scored once.

Cam Weeks won all 18 of his faceoffs while totaling 12 ground balls. Ethan Pratt was 10-18 (five GB's) and Breton Crewe was 7-10 (four GB's). Joey Heckel and Bryce Cheek each had two saves, while Hunter Klostermann had one in the final 15 minutes of play.

"Great win to start the year," said coach Albert Mitchell. "It was great to see so many guys step up. Our focus now turns to Florida Southern."

The Trojans will be back in action on Friday (Feb. 10) as they travel to take on Florida Southern. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m., with video and live stats available at autrojans.com.
