Trojans Split With Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. -- Tony Graham and Cody Nye both were 3-for-6 to lead Anderson University to a 12-8 victory over Mount Olive in the first game of a CVAC doubleheader Saturday afternoon. In the second game, Mount Olive jumped out to an 8-0 lead through four innings and went on to post a 10-4 victory. Graham started the first game with a home run and finished with three RBI. Nye had a two-out, three-run double in the sixth to give Anderson a 9-4 lead. Chris Pitts started the first game for Anderson and allowed 10 hits and five runs in seven innings. After a rocky first, Pitts allowed just five hits and one run in the next six innings. Stephen Nordan and Josh Carter had three hits apiece for Mount Olive in the first game. Carter also led Mount Olive's offense in the second game -- 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and four RBI. Jonathan Pitts (2-for-4) was the only Anderson player with multiple hits in the second game. With the split, Anderson is now 10-18 overall and 3-3 in the CVAC, while Mount Olive stands at 15-8, 6-5. 2006 Anderson University Baseball Statistics
