ANDERSON, S.C. -- Tripp Lockhart hit a grand slam in the first inning and Jason Morales hit a two-run homer in the fourth to lead UNC Pembroke to a 12-8 non-conference victory over Anderson University Wednesday afternoon at Anderson Memorial Stadium. UNC Pembroke, 12-9 overall, snapped a six-game losing streak. The loss drops Anderson to 9-17. The visiting Braves finished with 15 hits to Anderson's 12. Morales and Barrett Otto both were 3-for-6 for the Braves. Anderson's offense was led by Jessie Whiteside and Cody Nye. Whiteside was 3-for-5 with a double and two home runs, and Nye was 3-for-5 with a single, a triple, and a home run.
