The Trojans
The Trojans will open the season on the road for the 10th time in 11 years before returning to the Electric City to host a 10-match, three-day tournament of their own next weekend.

After capturing a share of the South Atlantic Conference's regular-season title and earning the program's fourth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament a year ago, AU received two first-place votes and was picked to finished third in the 2022 SAC Preseason Coaches' Poll last week, with veterans Jaelyn Grimm, Madison Roy, Noel Knutsen and Sadie Kluner each garnering All-SAC recognition.

AU's veteran roster features 15 returners, including six seniors and 10 players who saw action in at least ten matches a year ago.

McKendree
The Bearcats, who posted an 8-20 overall record last season, including a 4-13 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, return 13 letterwinners from last year's squad, including four starters, and are looking for their first appearance in the postseason conference tournament since 2018.

The Series vs. McKendree
The Trojans and Bearcats will be meeting for the first time in program history.

Indianapolis
The Greyhounds finished last season with a 14-17 overall record, including a 10-8 mark in the GLVC after falling to 21st-ranked Lewis in the opening round of the 2021 GLVC Tournament.

The Series vs. UIndy
AU will be seeing UIndy for the third time overall and their first meeting since 2019. The Trojans defeated UIndy, 3-1, at the 2018 Coker/Francis Marion Tournament, while the Greyhounds won the rematch, 3-1, at the 2019 Cedarville Yellow Jacket Invite.

Wayne State
The Warriors were tabbed third in the GLIAC Preseason Coaches Poll after notching a 20-win season for the first time since 1998 a year ago. Wayne State went 20-9 last season, which included an 11-4 mark in the GLAC.

The Warriors return 12 letterwinners from last year's squad, which made the program's third overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first appearance since the 1994 season.

The Series vs. Wayne State
Saturday morning's contest will mark the first meeting between AU and the Warriors.

Montevallo
The Falcons won seven of their last eight outings last season and advanced to the finals of the Gulf South Conference Tournament before falling to seventh-ranked West Florida and finished with a 21-14 mark.

Montevallo was picked to finish third in the GSC Preseason Coaches Poll after capturing one first-place vote. Sophomore middle blocker Allie Dishman earned Preseason First-Team All-GSC honors, after leading the Falcons with 35 service aces last season. The Carrollton, Ga., native finished second on the team with 91 blocks and was third with 271 kills. Dishman was fourth in the GSC a year ago with a .341 hitting percentage.

The incoming freshman duo of Maggie McColley and Brooklyn Hudson were recognized on the GSC Newcomer Watch List for the 2022 campaign.

The Series vs. Montevallo
The Trojans wrap up their visit to the Hoosier State by squaring off against Montevallo from the Gulf South Conference for just the fourth time in program history and the first time since 2010. AU is seeking its first-ever win over the Falcons.
