Knutsen Named South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. – On the eve of Trojans' non-conference clash with Lander, Anderson senior middle hitter Noelle Knutsen has been named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Knutsen, who is tied for third in total blocks and fourth in blocks per set in the league rankings, helped lead the Trojans to two conference road wins last week, including their sixth straight victory and AU's first win at Tusculum since 2018.

The Parker, Colo., native posted a team-high 10 total blocks (1.25/set) in the two wins and added 28 kills (3.50/set) behind a .436 attacking percentage, while committing just four errors in 55 swings.

Knutsen recorded 15 kills on a stellar .406 hitting percentage and posted five block assists in AU's four-set win at Mars Hill last Tuesday night, then had 13 kills, four solo blocks and a block assist in the Trojans' four-set win at Tusculum.

On the season, Knutsen also ranks second in the SAC in hitting percentage, total kills and points, third in points per set and fifth in kills per set.
