Jaelyn Grimm Named South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. – On the heels of the Trojans' appearance over the weekend at the UIndy Invitational, Anderson junior Jaelyn Grimm has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday morning.

Grimm, who leads the South Atlantic Conference in both blocks and blocks per set, helped lead the Trojans to three victories over the weekend in the Hoosier State.

Grimm's eight block assists against Montevallo in Sunday's final match of the weekend matched the third-highest total in program history, just two behind former standout Jessica Harris' 10 against Bellarmine in the Derby City in 2014.

She led all players with six block assists in the season-opening sweep of McKendree and added four block assists against UIndy, while notching a match-high five block assists against Wayne State.

The Cedar Park, Texas, native ranks 12th in the South Atlantic Conference with a .283 attacking percentage.

The weekly honor is the first of her stellar career.
