ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson's track and field team will be making the short trek to Columbia, S.C. on Saturday (Feb. 17) to compete in the USC Indoor Open for one last meet before the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Championships next weekend (Feb. 24-25) in Winston-Salem, N.C.
"This weekend is simply a tune up opportunity as we get ready for the SAC Championships next weekend," said head coach Kevin Eagle. "We have a few athletes competing who haven't competed in a couple weeks, so for them, this meet is just to get back into the competitive mindset."
The slate for Saturday's meet includes Anderson, Benedict, Charleston Southern, Charlotte, The Citadel, Coker, College of Charleston, Davidson, Furman, Georgia, Limestone, Mercer, Newberry, Piedmont, Richard Bland, Savannah State, South Carolina, St. Augustine's and Winston-Salem State.
"There will be some great competition this weekend at USC," said Eagle, "so of course it will be exciting to see where we stack."
