Women’s Tennis Day -  A Glimpse Back at the 2019-2020 Season

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University Director of Tennis Joey Eskridge's women's tennis team won its last three matchups to push the 2020 record to 12-3 overall and 1-2 in South Atlantic Conference play, including a convincing, 6-1, win over No. 17 ranked Tusculum and wins over Peach Belt Conference opponents, Young Harris and August. Eskridge also reached the 300 combined win milestone with the victory over the Pioneers.

Senior Mirna Curcic posted a, 10-2, overall singles record and an, 8-3, doubles mark to help lead the Black and Gold to 12 victories. Senior Gabrielle Dacuba defeated her USC Sumter opponents in both the singles and doubles portion during the February 1st matchup. Curcic earned SAC Second Team doubles and Honorable Mention singles a season ago.

Freshman Anna Greer earned SAC Player of the Week honors during her final week of play. The native of Boiling Springs, S.C., led the Trojans to a pair of wins last week, including a 6-1 SAC win over nationally ranked No. 17 Tusculum. She picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles and a 6-2 win at No. 3 singles versus Tusculum, while emerging victorious at No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-1) and No. 3 doubles (7-6) versus Augusta. Greer ended the season with a, 10-3, overall singles record while posting a, 9-3, overall doubles record for the Trojans.
