Women’s Tennis Dominates No. 17 Tusculum; 6-1

Greeneville, Tenn. – Anderson University women's tennis team was clicking on all cylinder's putting together a dominate performance over nationally ranked Tusculum winning, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.  

With the wins, the Trojans move to 11-3 overall and 1-2 in conference action while the Pioneers fall to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in SAC play.

The Trojans earned the opening point winning the No. 2 and No. 3 flights to take the early lead.

Anderson carried the momentum in to singles play winning five out of the six slots.

Head coach Joey Eskridge earned his 300th combined win. Eskridge is in his 12th season with the Trojans.

Anderson will step out of conference play when it travels to Augusta on Sunday. First-serve is scheduled for 2 pm.

"Girls played great from start to finish beating their first top twenty opponent of the season", said head coach Joey Eskridge. "Tusculum is ranked seventeen in the country and our girls rose to the occasion."

"Very proud of them and like I said earlier in the season if we can execute and not beat ourselves we are a great team", exclaimed Eskridge. "I am so excited for our program and look forward to seeing what other great accomplishments they can achieve this season."
