Anderson, S.C. – Anderson University women's soccer senior, Annie Kate Hodge has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Women's Soccer First Team for District III, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
In early June, Hodge was named to the The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer First Team, selected by CoSIDA. This award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advanced to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees were announced in early July.
Based on the absence of most fall sports competition, the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Committee revised some rules and procedures for nominating student-athletes this season. Due to the low percentage of games completed this season, the nominees were selected based on career statistics and achievements.
As a defender, Hodge made appearances in 43 games, while making 38 starts. She scored one career goal, taking 13 total shots.
Hodge also earned Academic All-District her sophomore season. The native of Inman, S.C. carried a 4.0 in Biochemistry during her stint at Anderson.
