ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson women's soccer team continues to garner national recognition, ranking 10th in the Southeast Region in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire Regional Rankings released on Tuesday.
Anderson (9-7, 5-3 South Atlantic Conference) slipped two spots from last week after shutting out Valdosta State, 1-0, last Wednesday and dropping a 2-0 decision at Lincoln Memorial.
The Trojans have won four out of the last five contests and set a new school record for shutouts with the win past VSU.
Fellow SAC member Lenoir-Rhyne tops the regional poll, while Tusculum and Lincoln Memorial are tied for eighth.
The Trojan defense continues to garner accolades, as AU ranks 49th in the nation in save percentage, 48th in shutout percentage (.438) and 57th in goals-against average.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kaitlin Neipp ranks 49th in the nation with her .826 save percentage and is 64th in goals-against average.
Junior Jessica Kleinberg ranks 21st in the nation with her four game-winning scores.
Anderson visits North Georgia College on Wednesday, before returning home to host Wingate Saturday. Kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. in Dahlonega, Ga.
