ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson women's soccer team has been rewarded for its' late- season surge with a No. 8 ranking in the Southeast Region in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire Regional Rankings released on Tuesday.
Anderson (8-6, 5-2 South Atlantic Conference) has won five straight conference matches and five of its last six overall, while equaling the school record for shutouts in a season with six clean sheets so far this season.
The Trojans join fellow SAC member Lenoir-Rhyne in the poll.
As a team, the Trojans' defense ranks 42nd in the nation in save percentage, 50th in shutout percentage (.429) and 56th in goals-against average, while individually, sophomore net-minder Kaitlyn Neipp is 37th in the country with her .831 save percentage and ranks 69th in goals-against average. Junior Jessica Kleinberg ranks 16th in the nation with her four game-winning scores.
AU wraps up its two-match homestand when Valdosta State invades Trojan Stadium for a 2 p.m. match on Wednesday.
