Rock Hill, S.C. - The Anderson University Women's Lacrosse team has been picked to finish eighth in the South Atlantic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the conference office on Thursday, January 26.
In their inaugural season, the Trojans have been selected above three other teams in the SAC with 37 points beating out Tusculum (27), Mars Hill (24), and Coker (14).
Wingate (100) was voted as the preseason favorite with 10 first place votes while Limestone (90) tallied one first place vote placing them second in the poll.
Lenoir-Rhyne (74) was picked third with Lincoln Memorial (68) and Newberry (68) tied for fourth place. UVA Wise (54) was chosen fifth followed by Catawba (49) in sixth place.
With the departure of last season's top seed (Queens), there is no defending champion to dethrone.
Anderson opens its inaugural season on February 11 at home against Southern Wesleyan at 2 pm.
