GREENWOOD, S.C. -- Lander scored all three of its runs in the third inning Tuesday afternoon to defeat Anderson College 3-2 in the Bearcats' regular-season finale. The second game of the non-conference doubleheader was called after one-half an inning because of tornado warnings in the area. Lander, which begins play in the Peach Belt Conference tournament on Friday, finishes the regular season 32-32 overall, while Anderson College drops to 16-36. Austin Murray improved her pitching record to 9-11 with the win, striking out nine, walking two, and allowing one earned run on four hits in seven complete innings. Anderson's Ashley Rogers (8-16) took the loss, striking out one, walking three, and allowing three earned runs on seven hits in six innings. Anderson took a 1-0 lead when Melissa Waters stole home after Maranda Passmore struck out. Lander came back in the bottom of the third and scored all three of its runs. Colleen Leggieri went home on a Ashlea Burdette RBI single and Burdette and Melissa Ryals scored on Tracy Cumalander's RBI double. For Anderson, Melissa Carmichael went 2-for-3.
