Queens Eliminates Softball Team From CVAC Tourney

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Queens University of Charlotte scored four runs in the top of the 10th inning to beat Anderson College 6-2 and eliminate the Lady Trojans from the 2005 CVAC Tournament Sunday afternoon. Anderson, 22-38 overall, got a double from Lindsay Crump and a two-out RBI single from Cindy Crosby in bottom of the seven to tie the game at 2 and send it to extra innings. Anderson had the bases loaded in both the eighth and ninth but failed to score. Queens opened the scoring in the top of the third when Brittany Stubbs provided an RBI triple. Anderson tied the game at 1 in the bottom of the third when Jessica Hoffman scored on an error. Queens was 3-0 against Anderson this season. Two Anderson players -- pitcher Ashley Rogers and outfielder Rachelle Lawrence -- were named to the all-tournament team. 2005 AC Softball Final Statistics
