Korver Resigns Position As Head Softball Coach

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Christine Yon Korver, head softball coach at Anderson College for the past two seasons, has resigned to seek other opportunities, athletic director Bobby Beville announced Monday afternoon. "I want to thank Christie for her contributions to our softball program," Beville said. "Christie has decided to make a career change and we wish her the best in the future." Korver, a native of Anderson and a graduate of Anderson's Westside High School, was 46-74 overall against one of the most difficult non-conference schedules in Division II and 27-13 in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference. She led the Lady Trojans to a third-place finish in the CVAC in 2004 and a fourth-place finish in the league in 2005. Prior to returning to Anderson College to serve as assistant softball coach and head softball coach, Korver was a star athlete at Winthrop University. A search for Korver's replacement will begin immediately.
