Men's Lacrosse Scores 28 Goals in Win Over Mars Hill

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson University men's lacrosse team scored a season high 28 goals on Saturday (Mar. 6) in a 28-11 victory over the Mars Hill Lions.

The Trojans came out clicking on all cylinders in the first period, as they set the tone of the game by scoring 10 goals from six different players in the first fifteen minutes of play. The offensive onslaught continued into the second period as Anderson scored five more times, going into halftime with a 15-5 advantage.

"We played very well in all facets of the game," said coach Albert Mitchell. "I was glad to see contributions from so many different players."

It was more of the same in the second half as the Trojans combined for 13 more goals, cruising to a 28-11 victory. Isaiah Hines, Kaleb West, Beau Henson, and Ryley Zopfi each scored four times to lead the team. Cole Shallat scored three times, with Logan Gaddis, Mikey McCormack, and Ryan Gundersen finishing with two goals.

Cam Weeks continued his dominance in the faceoff, winning 22 of his 24 attempts and picking up 15 ground balls. Logan Trafton had eight saves to earn his first win of the season.
"Great team win today," said Mitchell. "Our focus now turns to preparing for Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday."

The Trojans will host Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday (Mar. 10) at Trojan Stadium. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.autrojans.com.
