Trojans Drop Final Regular Season Match versus Queens; 1-0

Charlotte, N.C. – Anderson University women's soccer dropped its final regular season match, 1-0, to South Atlantic Conference foe Queens on Wednesday evening at Dickson Field.

With the loss, the Trojans fall to 7-8 overall and 4-6 in SAC action, while the Royals move to 12-5-1 overall and 6-4 in conference play.

Queens Victoria Templin scored an unassisted goal in the 20th minute of action, which was the eventual game winner.

The Royals outshot the Trojans 20(8) – 9(3), while also claiming the corner kick edge, 6-3.

AU's Madison Paige was credited with six saves on the evening, while Queens Erica Turner recorded three stops.

"Tonight was a tough loss, said head coach Sarah Jacobs. "We had some good moments and some mistakes we need to clean up, but the team fought hard. We will regroup and look ahead to the conference tournament this weekend!"

NEXT UP

Anderson will now turn its focus to SAC postseason play. The Black and Gold will be the seventh seed and will travel to No. 2 Wingate. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m.
